Illustrated bone china plate by Katie Spragg featuring bees and their blue honeycomb.
Inspired by the strange but true tale of these French bees:
French bee keepers had a mystery on their hands when their bees started producing blue, red, yellow and brown honey.
They discovered that a biogas plant a mile away had left vats of M&Ms colouring outside which the bees had been feeding on, attracted by its sweetness.
This plate is made in Stoke on Trent with Katie’s illustrations applied in her London studio.
